What the UK instructions allow
The UK label lets you take Foundayo once a day at any time, with no food or water restriction. Swallow the film-coated tablet whole. Do not break, crush or chew the tablet. Oral semaglutide has fasting rules and Foundayo does not, but you still must not chew or dissolve the tablet.
Link the tablet to something you already do every day, such as a regular meal. Aim for steady daily use. No single minute of the day works best. If a clinician gave you personal instructions, check any change of timing with the dispensing team first.
Easy timing still needs interaction checks
You can take Foundayo with food. You cannot combine the tablet freely with every other medicine. Some interactions depend on how the liver handles medicines, so taking the doses half an hour apart will not necessarily solve the problem.
If you feel sick, note whether the nausea links to meals, a recent dose increase or another treatment. Moving the tablet between morning and night again and again hides the pattern and leaves the cause untouched. Your prescriber can review side effects and dose steps without blaming the time of day for every symptom.
A routine which prevents double doses
Pick one way to record each dose: a dated checklist, a medicine app or the day shown on the blister. A reminder says a dose is due. The reminder does not prove you took the dose. Mark each dose after you take it, and keep anyone who helps with your medicines on the same system.
If you cannot remember taking a tablet, ask for advice before you take another. Keep spare packs apart from the pack in use, so an old strength is not mistaken for a new one. When you collect a repeat prescription, read the strength before you start the pack.
Plan ahead for swallowing problems and sickness
Tell your pharmacist if whole tablets are hard for you to swallow. Changing the tablet may alter how the medicine works, so never adapt a whole-tablet medicine at home. Another formulation or treatment may suit you better.
Vomiting after a dose leaves doubt about how much you absorbed. Whether or not you see the tablet, you cannot work out the dose from this. Do not repeat the dose automatically. Ask your prescriber or pharmacist. If vomiting continues or you cannot keep fluids down, get medical advice promptly, whatever happened to the dose.
Keep the leaflet from your current pack to hand, even if you have taken the medicine before. The leaflet has product-specific instructions and tells you where to get advice. If the pack looks different, check the medicine name and strength with the pharmacy. Tablet colour alone is no reliable way to identify a medicine.
Questions for your appointment
Ask the pharmacist whether Foundayo fits with your current medicines and whether any interaction changes the prescription. If you find tablets hard to swallow, raise this before you start. Never crush the first tablet to cope.
